The Benefits of Photo-Rejuvenation

July 2, 2016

Photo-Rejuvenation is a non invasive treatment with no down time and few side effects. Used to treat various conditions of the skin.  It is performed with the use of Lasers, Intense Pulse Lights and Variation Pulse Lights. Firstly a cool gel is applied to the area to help keep the skin cool then the applicator is passed over the area being treated. Thus heating the area, tricking the collagen into thinking it’s been damaged, it then starts to work repairing itself. In turn this improves the texture and appearance of the skin.

Loss of collagen density leads to loss of elasticity and a dull appearance to the skin. The skin loses it’s firmness, tends to sag and fine lines and wrinkles are formed. As Photo-Rejuvenation stimulates collagen growth it is very effective at treating these concerns, leaving skin looking and feeling firmer with a glowing complexion.

Photo-Rejuvenation is an excellent treatment for removing fine lines, softening wrinkles, sun damage. Pigmentation can be lightened and in some cases will disappear completely. Redness in the skin can be reduced. Broken capillaries can also be treated. Although broken capillaries can be difficult to treat, depending on the depth of the capillary. Superficial capillaries can be treated effectively but due to the light only being able to travel to a certain depth, deeper capillaries are not so easily treated. Due to collagen stimulation it can also help to reduce open pores and scarring. As it promotes the healing process and has anti bacterial effects it can aid in healing and reducing acne breakouts and scarring.

Maybe due to the collagen stimulation starting these treatments once or twice a year in your 20’s and 30’s will reduce the need for treatments like Botox and fillers.

If treating a concern such as acne or pigmentation it is generally recommended that you have around 6 treatments performed 2 weeks apart.

Results can often be seen immediately, with the skin looking fresher and brighter. Pigmentation and acne treatments can take a bit longer. You will continue to see the skin improve over a period of 3 months.

For best results, I would recommend combining Microdermabrasion or Glycolic with Oxygen Vitamin C infusions. This will also depend on what conditions are being treated. Your Beauty Therapist will advise you on this. Of course, home care will help with maintaining results.

The treatment can be performed on any area with the face, neck, décolletage and hands being the most commonly treated areas.
